Hey there,

Well, it’s Saturday and we have two brought home two Grand Slam titles from Roland Garros!! 🙂

Congrats to Mixed Dubs Champs Mahesh Bhupahti & Sania Mirza and Men’s Doubles Champions Max Mirnyi & Daniel Nestor!!!!

It’s really cool to have both teams playing all Wilson sticks!! The boys using the Six.One, which is probably the most popular racket on the ATP World Doubles Tour and Sania with the Juice….Did you know that MORE TITLES have been won with a Wilson racket than any other brand?! Sooooo Juice’y!! 😉

What some of you probably also do not know is that Max and I have known each other since we were about 11 yrs old… we went to Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy together…. we were in Nick’s group and I am pretty sure I am the one who had the worst pro results out of all (Kournikova, Haas, etc) in the group…. that is, except for one other guy who shall remain nameless!! haha

Max is not only a great champ, but a great guy…. he represents Wilson so well at all times and we are lucky to have him… It’s really nice to see someone who has had great success in a sport be so humble and gracious and did not let success change him one bit. It’s often fun to see how people grow up and turn out… kinda funny we get to work together through Wilson! 🙂

And of course, we had to get Max and Daniel in the ‘beer commercial’ action so what better way to celebrate a Slam win then with this?! Enjoy!! 🙂

I’m in NY trying to enjoy some time with my Mom, so…..

Until later,

Tracy 🙂

Wilson Players Continue to Win Titles on WTA

Serena Williams Wins 40th WTA Title with Wilson Blade; Lucie Safarova Wins Doubles Title with Wilson Juice at Family Circle Cup

Serena Williams, 27-time Grand Slam winner and two-time doubles Olympic gold medalist, claimed her 40th WTA title yesterday in Charleston, S.C., with her Wilson Blade Team tennis racket, defeating fellow Wilson player Lucie Safarova 6-0, 6-1 in the finals of the Family Circle Cup. Williams has had a Wilson racket in hand for all 40 of her title wins.

“We extend heart-felt congratulations to Serena on her impactful win yesterday,” said Renaud Vallon, global tour director of Wilson Racquet Sports. “She has won countless matches over the course of her renowned tennis career, and this is certainly an impressive milestone we knew would be close at hand.  This will no doubt be a strong year for Serena with the form she’s in and the dominance she’s currently showing in the WTA.”

Not all was lost for the singles finalist; Lucie Safarova volleyed with her Wilson Juice 100 tennis racket to take home her first WTA doubles title with partner Pavlyuchenkova.

“I am playing some of my best tennis with my new Juice racket and, after reaching the finals of singles and then taking the doubles title, I am just more pumped for the next tournament!” said Safarova.

Wilson tennis rackets continue to bring results on the WTA Tour.  In just the first four months of 2012, 13 titles have already been won with a Wilson racket.

Well, one thing that every tennis player has is an EXTREMELY competitive nature……That is part of the make-up of players and what makes pro athletes special and helps them push the envelope and accomplish things very few get to.

Victoria Azarenka has been competing at the top level this year, going undefeated since switching to the Wilson Juice tennis racket and showed an incredible amount of heart tonight coming from behind to defeat Cibulkova in three sets… Grigor Dimitrov completed his first win over a Top 10 player yesterday against, Berdych showing that he really has the heart and talent to play at the highest level.

We can only imagine the type of pressure that they feel when they step on the court, trying to control expectations and just play their game…. it’s not an easy thing. The thing I love about these two players is yes, they are ANIMALS on the court, but they still know how to have a good time and show their personality. Vika and Grigor are two funny people, who are a BLAST to be around…. It’s great for the sport and for us at Wilson….to have two really dynamic people on the team is MEGA. It really shows on camera and in the videos we do,  just how cool they all are and that they are people you would want to hang with for sure.

Kinda weird and ironic is that the fun part we do with our players, showing their personalities on video, that  is the competitive part for me and where I am super competitive….
Yes, I want our videos to be the most viewed and the most loved.  I want tennis players of all ages to like and pass along our vids to their dubs partners, everyone they know etc…. that’s how I can measure my success….

The past four years we have led the tennis brands in social media, but now it’s seriously getting competitive… hats off to our competitors for stepping up their games these past few months and now I have my hands full!!! And it’s getting interesting. 🙂

Do I want to do the best I can for Wilson? YES. Do we want to be the most engaging? YES.  Do we want to make you smile? YES. Do we want you to love Wilson? YES!!!!

I get to be competitive about FUN and LOVE everyday….hahahaha…. so here are the latest videos we hope you LOVE to enjoy and share!! 🙂

Until later,

Kei Nishikori spins Djokovic out of Basel

Kei Nishikori is continuing his strong run at the end of this ATP Calendar year.  Following his two singles wins in Davis Cup, Kei has reached the semi’s in Kuala Lumpur ATP (win over #11 Almagro), semi’s in Shanghai (win over #8 Tsonga) and this week in Basel, after a win over #6 Berdych, he now gets a HUGE win over world #1 Djokovic…handing Djokovic only his 4th loss of the year.

Kei is taking it to new levels….. this marks his 1st win over a world #1 and will likely be ranked within the Top 30 after this week. It’s awesome to see Kei going BIG…what’s the key to his new-found success? Could it be the racket? Could it be his upped fitness level? Could it be his coaching team? Who knows?! We are just proud Kei is doing well!!
