US Open Day 11

Good day!!!

Today was the most manageable day thus far of the tournament, we have our big events behind us and now I can focus on our players results, our social media and really getting some fun stuff with our players.

We have also had some great results with our players as Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Andrea Petkovic, Mardy Fish, Flavia Pennetta, Monica Niculescu & Alexandr Dolgopolov are all in the 4th round.

Tomorrow, the juniors start and we tear down our suite, so we will be full blown tomorrow.

The peaceful day was great while it lasted!!

Check out our latest Wilson Pro Overgrip Challenge with Flavia Pennetta.

Until later,

Tracy

US Open Day 8- MORE ARMAGEDDON?!

Hey all,

As I’m sure you are well aware of, there is a storm in NY that has shut down the whole city… no cars on the road, no restaurants are open, no tennis balls being hit. Everyone was in panic mode, there are no batteries, flashlights or anything at the convenience stores….. and really, it’s a bad rain storm…. I mean a category 1 hurricane?! We have like 5 of those per year in FL and we surf in that weather!! They are acting like it’s Armageddon here…. so what did we at Wilson do?? We had the suite open and had Juan Martin Del Potro, Kei Nishikori, Jarkko Nieminen and many more stop by to pick up their pro overgrip, bags and BLX rackets to be ready for tomorrow!!! No bloody storm is going to stop us!! 😉

While NY is in a panic, it’s business as usual for us, and business for me, means MORE CHALLENGES!! lol

Check out this Wilson Tennis Shorts Challenge with Frank Dancevic, who made his way through qualifying.

And congrats to these players who also qualified:

US Open- Saturday August 27th

Andrea Petkovic & Mardy Fish with Guinness World Record Judge Mike Janela

6 hours of sleep in 3 days is not a good thing, but it was definitely worth it!!!

We are proud to say that Wilson Tennis is proud to officially own the Guinness World Record for the “Most people to bounce a tennis ball on their tennis racket in one location”!!!

It was a crazy day for the Wilson team and we started the morning at 4am to make sure we had everything ready for the Guinness event and it was incredible to have so many people on hand for this event.

I have to say that it’s humbling and an honor to have so many great people assist us with the event. To make an event of this size happen, it would not be possible without our volunteers. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

We all pulled together and it was an amazing experience.

One of the coolest things about my job is that I often get to combine my interests with the sport & brand.

I always had a Guinness book as a kid and tried to figure out a way to get into the book and now WE ARE IN THE GUINNESS BOOK!!! AMAZING!!

Knock that off the bucketlist!! 🙂

And the day didn’t end after Guinness, it was onto our 2012 photoshoot!!!!! We spent the rest of the day shooting Juan Martin Del Potro, Feliciano Lopez, Petra Kvitova & Kei Nishikori…. some exciting stuff to come in 2012!!

Stay tuned.

Much more to write but should probably help the boys in the suite.

So for now, check out the recap video of Guinness

Until later,

Tracy

US Open Day Q1- The good and the bad

Are you joining Mardy on Friday? Come help us set a Guinness World Record

So ok, it’s 12am and I am sitting in the suite, trying to get through emails and do the thing I am supposed to do for Wilson, social media!! I actually miss writing posts and interacting and it’s been less than 24 hrs of not doing it!! haha

Right now, it’s a crazy time for us, we have the Guinness World Record event with Mardy Fish and Andrea Petkovic coming up on Friday (RSVP for event) and on top of that, we will have a photoshoot on Friday and Saturday with some of our top players like Juan Martin Del Potro & Petra Kvitova….trying to multitask on things this big…. not too easy.

So today was spent ungripping junior rackets for the Guinness event to make sure they are ready to go for 7:30am on Friday!!! And tomorrow will be much of the same…. this is what I like to call b***h work…. so that’s the bad part….

The good part is that the Wilson Next Gen’rs are playing well and ready to make their move on tour! Keep an eye out for big hitters Kristyna Pliskova, Laura Robson, Jessica Pegula, Benoit Paire, Kristina Mladenovic, David Goffin and more!!

Some good qualies matches on tomorrow, so hope to see you on site.

Alright back to the grind before another day of prep work….

Until later,

Tracy
