Fish reaches career milestone with Wilson BLX

Today Mardy Fish reached a career high #7 on the ATP World Tour.
Since transitioning to Wilson BLX a year and a half ago, Mardy Fish has had his best results, taking home 3 ATP Tour titles, reaching 4 finals, reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon for the 1st time in his career and most recently, he reached the finals of the ATP Masters Series tournament in Montreal.
“My confidence is at an all time high. Being in good shape and having the right equipment are two big components of that. Players want things to come automatically and with my Wilson Six.One 95 BLX racquet, I feel like I can get in the zone,” said Fish.
Now each time Fish steps onto the hard courts of the US, he is proving that American tennis is alive and well.

Andrea Petkovic joins Wilson World Record Attempt

WTA Tennis World #11 Andrea Petkovic announced that she will join Mardy Fish in Wilson’s attempt to set the Guinness Book of World Record for the “Most people to bounce a tennis ball on their racquet in one location” on August 26, 2011 at the Billie Jean King Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, NY.

Petkovic is having a stellar year, using her Wilson Six.One Team BLX racquet to win her 2nd career singles title, reach the quarterfinals of Australian Open and French Open and catapult her to a career high #11 in the world.

“We are psyched to have Andrea on board for the event. Her fun and energetic personality is perfect for getting everyone on the courts,” said Mike Steck, Wilson Racquet Global Director of Marketing. “And we can’t wait to see what dance moves she busts out after we break the record!”

Fish and Petkovic are encouraging kids to get fit and get into sport. One of the first things players learn when starting tennis, is to bounce the ball on their racquet and the Guinness World Record attempt will have players of all ages do just that. The first 500 kids to participate in the world record attempt will receive a free Wilson junior racquet and a can of tennis balls so they can get started right away!

Wilson Tour Team use Wilson BLX Racket to Sweep Atlanta Tennis Championships

Swinging their Wilson Six.One BLX tennis rackets, Mardy Fish, Scott Lipsky and Rajeev Ram swept the Atlanta Championship titles for the Wilson Tour Team.

Mardy Fish won his second straight tournament and 10th straight match, swinging his Six.One 95 BLX tennis racket to beat Isner 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4) in the final of the Atlanta Tennis Championships.

“Feels awesome to be winning,” said Fish. “With my fitness level being at its best and having my BLX racket that I know I can count on, I have no frivolous worries and focus on the important things on court.”

Fish, who won in Newport earlier this month, defeated Isner in a scorching 2 hour, 45 minute match with the on-court temperature nearing 150 degrees.

In doubles action, Scott Lipsky and Rajeev Ram beat Bopanna and Vliegen 6-3, 6-7 (4), 12-10 in the doubles final. Lipsky and Ram did not lose a set until the final.

“We are proud of our guys,” said Massimo Calvelli, Wilson Global Tour Director. “This is the beginning of the US Open Series and it’s nice to see them playing some great tennis already.”

US Open Series continues in Los Angeles.
