Video Run

It’s 3:50am and I am wide awake! Not good when I have to run a 5k this morning!!!

Check out these videos….

#1 Eduardo Schwank has been on fire, getting through qualies and reaching the 3rd round with the Wilson Juice Pro, now he has the tall challenge of taking on Nadal later today.

#2 Petra Kvitova and her coach David show their acting skills. We had some uber talented peeps working on this video. Hey Cal, Munn and crew! 🙂

#3 Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecau …. it’s no surprise these dudes are two of my favorites cause they are hilarious and they actually ad lib this piece. Think this is MEGA funny and I want to see it get more hits! Come on ladies, don’t see many better ways to spend 30 sec. 🙂

#4 Protest… as some of my colleagues said: “What’s more French than a protest?!” lol Check Paul-Henri Mathieu and Anne Keothavong in it. Help keep the Juice & Steam legal!!

Thanks again to all who sponsored my run. I will try to make you and Papa proud today!! 🙂

Until later,

Tracy

Balance

Although I am a Libra, balance is not something I do very well….heck, it’s 5am in the morning and I am writing a bloody blog!!!  ;P But sometimes we find balance, we find a way because there are events in our lives that change our views, our opinions, the way we live, etc… and that for me was Sept. 11, 2010, when my father passed from Pancreatic Cancer. Nothing is more difficult to deal with then the loss of a loved one and part of my healing process was to listen to my fathers advice and find a way to try and enjoy the great blessings we are given each day…….

I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to have great family, friends and a fun job that allows me to be around the sport I love and provides a platform that allows me to talk about the things I am passionate about…

You may not know that pancreatic cancer is the nation’s fourth leading cause of cancer deaths, yet only 2% of all federal cancer research funding goes to pancreatic cancer. Research holds the key to finding better treatments and a cure, so that is why I am running the Dash for Detection in support of Pancreatic Cancer research, benefiting the Michael Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer Foundation and The Lustgarten Foundation this Saturday in Chicago.  Please support my run by clicking & donating here

So now back to the tennis talk!! 🙂  Yesterday we had a blast. I have to say I was super skeptical about our ‘protest’ to keep the Wilson Juice & Steam legal, but it actually turned out great!! It was super fun working with our Wilson France team…. We had Henri Leconte walk the streets of Paris with us, we had Paul Henri Mathieu stop by just before we started and then we had Anne Keothavong in a car thinking there was a serious protest going only to realize it was crazy Wilson!!! lol Check out the video. Test- can you tell what is shot with a professional camera and what clips are shot with the iPhone?! D**n iPhone shooting is more solid than you think!!

And after that it was a day of editing for Robin and I…. it’s great to have someone who edits much better than I do and now I focus on music for the videos!! lol It’s fun, but also not that easy since we make sure we use ‘street legal’ music so not to deal with royalties… so this makes Garage Band key!!!  DJ TSing in da house!! haha

In addition to the protest video, we also got a great video with Robert Lindstedt & Horia Tecau…. all I have to say is that these guys are hilarious and they took the concept to the next level!! I would like to take credit for the humor in it, but it was all them… gotta love guys who are willing to do anything for Wilson!! hahaha

So I gotta rap this blog up cause I have to pack…….

This trip from Rome-Florence-Vevey-Paris has been amazing both professionally and personally, but now it’s time for me to shift gears……

Back to Chicago this AM,

Until later,

Tracy

G-L-A-M-O- NO!!!!!

Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecau hitting with fans... yes, that is me in the background, feeding balls in little Gucci heelsImage

Good morning….. so here we go, I have been on the road for a week and I can feel myself getting sick…. this is par for the course, when we get most of the heavy lifting done, the body starts to shut down…..

So everyone thinks that this job is uber glamourus and I can assure you that no job is always shiny and bedazzled out!! lol The not so fun part of social media is that it’s 24 hours a day and never ends. There is always questions or responses needed..- not so glam…. with my tour responsiblities, getting rackets signed in a parking lot- not so glam…. we are always still arranging the appearances at 8 or 9pm at night… not so glam…. The schedule always comes out late and then we have to make all the phone calls with the tournament to agent to player to retailer…. So there is never really a dinner that I don’t leave the table to make phone calls…..not so glam…. I am just super lucky to have friends that are super understanding.

After saying that, the best part of my job is getting to see the results of the time we put in…. Seeing kids trying their darndest to impress Horia and Robert as they hit- AWESOME, hearing the screeching of Roger’s fans- SCARY BUT GOOD, having players enjoy & truly have fun doing the crazy skits and ideas I have MAKES ME SMILE…. and even cooler was meeting a twitter follower yesterday! YEAH!! Occassionally, I get to meet the great people that follow us religiously and make our brand what it is…. some serious tennis players that really love the game!!

Yesterday, I met Cris T, who puts out some great tweets regularly… she was super nice and sweet and it’s awesome to meet people who love Wilson. Chris and the people I meet on the road that are Wilson loyal and part of the Wilson family, THAT’S what makes the insomnia worth it! lol

Anyway, so today is probably the last day I have to really have to push through the chaos…. breakfast meeting on some social media stuff with a 3rd party dude, going to get Wilson National Sales Manager Jeffery Adams to do some voiceover for the Juice vid, Feli Lopez will do a bag check, Dolgo will do an autograph session and a video with Grigor Dimitrov, then have to finally try to sit down and get the Juice video we shot last week edited… it really is so cool, I want to get it out now!! lol

Well, I am going to… oh another great part of social media… I am typing this from bed!!! haha

Time to get up and do work!! 🙂

Until later,

Tracy

video: shot this a couple days ago with WTA… I wrote the script.. aka the QUESO… not sure if everyone gets the humor and that they are supposed to over act but hope people like it… Vika and Petra are really awesome people

Forge ahead

So I think it’s going to get easier from here, hopefully!!!

We were able to get through Roger Federer autograph session with no issues and the fans were super happy. Honestly there were about 1000+ people out there just trying to catch a glimpse of Roger, but no one got rowdy, the girls just squeeled like pigs… lol… the best part of it was seeing some of the items that people bring in for Roger to sign…. the best were an American Girl doll, a $20 bill and a dude asked him to sign his jorts (jean shorts)….. that part always makes me laugh….

Yesterday we also shot a video with Victoria Azarenka and Petra Kvitova for our partnership with the WTA and it went well. They are playing doubles together here for the 1st time and it’s kinda amazing having world #1 & 3 playing together…. it’s great for the game and for us at Wilson to have to of the most dynamic personalities on tour. They did a fun video for Juice and Steam that will be on later today…. I have to say their acting skills are pretty good and we only had 5 minutes to shoot it!!

We managed to also get some Tennis Channel bag checks done with Simona Halep and Robert Lindstedt.

Robert and Horia Tecau will be doing a doubles clinic for fans today at 2pm at Tennis Warehouse tent…. hope you can come by and check it out….

Other than that, tonight I will lock myself in the hotel to complete editing the video we shot in Newport Beach to get at least one video out shortly…

Off to breakfast to review the Vika/Petra video we shot yesterday for WTA….

Until later,

Tracy

Horia Tecau sports all Wilson in Wimbledon Men’s Doubles Final

Horia Tecau will be fully representing Wilson when he takes the court wearing Wilson apparel and swinging his Six.One 95 BLX tennis racket as he and partner Robert Lindstedt vie for their first Grand Slam title at Wimbledon on Saturday.

“I’m having my best results this year and I think my cool clothes and racket are bringing me luck,” said Tecau with a smile. “I’m feeling great right now and to bring home the title would be amazing.”

Tecau has had an outstanding year thus far. The 6’4 Romanian won his first ATP doubles title at the 2010 Heineken Open in Auckland in January and his results continued to pick up, as he won the ITF Pro Circuit Challenger in Marrakech and then went on to team up with fellow Wilson player Robert Lindstedt to take the ATP World Tour Casablanca title. Leading into Wimbledon, Tecau and Lindstedt continued the partnership winning ‘s-Hertogenbosch for their second title as a team and lifted Tecau to a career high #32 on the ATP World Doubles Tour.

Tecau now finds himself in uncharted territory, playing in his first Wimbledon final against fellow Wilson player Philipp Petzschner and Melzer for the 2010 Wimbledon Doubles title.

“Wilson has always had many successful doubles teams,” said Tecau. “3 out of the 4 players this year are Wilson players…but I hope I can be the first all Wilson player to bring home a Grand Slam title. Robert and I are playing well together and this is an exciting time for us.”

The Wimbledon Men’s Doubles final will take place on Saturday July 3rd.

Wilson Tour Team wins 5 titles leading into Wimbledon

Wilson players are ready for the grass courts of the All England Club after taking five out of the eight titles that were up for grabs this past week.

In an all Wilson BLX battle, Justine Henin swung her Tour BLX tennis racket to defeat Six.One Team BLX player Andrea Petkovic 3-6 6-3 6-4 to take the UNICEF Open singles title in  ‘s-Hertogenbosch.

Wilson swept doubles action in ‘s-Hertogenbosch as Alla Kudryavtseva (Blade Team) and Anastasia Rodionova (Pro Open BLX) defeated King/Shvedova 3-6 6-3 10-6 for the Women’s title. Using their Six.One 95 BLX tennis rackets, Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecau defeated #1 seeds Dlouhy/Paes 1-6 7-5 10-7 to take the UNICEF Open Men’s Doubles title.

Ekaterina Makarova wins her first WTA Tour using her Tour BLX

In Eastbourne, Ekaterina Makarova swung her Tour BLX racket through eight matches to win her first WTA Tour title in Eastbourne. Makarova defeated five Top 20 players, including Azarenka 7-6(5) 6-4 in the final, to become the first qualifier ever to win the AEGON International title.

Using his Pro Tour BLX racket, Michael Llodra served and volleyed his way to defeat Garcia-Lopez 7-5 6-2 and take the AEGON International title in Eastbourne.

“Preparation for the grass court season is extremely short, so it’s very important for our players to play as many matches as possible,” said Wilson Global Tour Director Massimo Calvelli. “To see great results like this leading into Wimbledon bodes well for our team.”

Wimbledon starts Monday June 21st
