Dimitrov continues to rise with Wilson BLX
Dimitrov has now won 27 of his last 28 matches and is slated to reach another career high #136 on the ATP World Tour this week after gaining 80 ATP Tour points.
Dimitrov is starting to come into his own and prove why he is one of the top prospects of Wilson’s Next Gen.
We caught up with the 19 year old Dimitrov shortly after his win.
Q:What are your goals till end of year and 2011?
Grigor Dimitrov: Before the end of this year, I would like to get into Top 100 to get a jump start for Australian Open. And 2011 is gonna be an exciting year for me, so I’m looking forward to it. And of course, I have high expectations for my game and attack the Top 50, but most important is to stay healthy and in good condition.
Q: What is the picture/screen saver on your Blackberry?
Grigor Dimitrov: On my BB my picture is: black and white wallpaper over looking New York City made by Henri Silberman!
Q: What is your off court style?
Grigor Dimitrov: I don’t know from where should I start!! haha. I like clothes a lot. Actually in the end of the day, I’m trying to get off the tennis gear, when I go for dinner or have time off. Love stores, you can find all sorts of nice stuff in outlets and for sure in the expensive top brands stores. I personally like retro and rebel style, therefore my favorite designer was Alexander McQueen. All of his lines and models were different every time and you can find your style in it and you can express yourself in the way you want.
Q: Who would you like to see in concert?
Grigor Dimitrov: Well, I like all types of music but if I could really pick one, that would be the rapper Lil Wayne. I’ve been following him for a while and I like the background of his life and way to the top.
Q: What do you love about your Wilson Six.One Tour BLX?
Grigor Dimitrov: Simple: It’s THE BEST racket ever!!!
Groth swings Wilson BLX to 1st WTA Tour title
Swinging her Wilson Pro Open BLX racket, Jarmila Groth capped a breakthrough summer winning her first Sony Ericsson WTA Tour title at the Landsky Lighting Guangzhou International Women’s Open tennis tournament.
“I’m feeling great!” exclaimed Groth. “This has been a great year for me…. I’ve had some of my best results with my BLX racket and I want it to continue!”
Groth, who reached the Round of 16 at both the French Open and Wimbledon, was a solid first seed throughout the week in Guangzhou, losing just 15 games total, which marked the least amount of games lost en route to a title this year. She ended the career week off with a 6-1 6-4 win over fellow Wilson player Alla Kudryavtseva. Groth’s title win catapults her into the Top 50 on the WTA Tour rankings for the first time in her career.
“Jarka is having a strong finish to the year and we can only expect for her to build on this great result,” said Massimo Calvelli, Wilson Global Tour Director. “We look forward to watching her have strong 2011.”
Quick questions with Jarmila “Jarka” Groth……
How are you going to celebrate the title win? I am here alone so don’t have anybody to celebrate with and also tomorrow I am flying to Seoul where I am playing on Tuesday. But I am sure my husband celebrated it for me with my coach 🙂
Who is more competitive, you or your husband? Do you ever get competitive with each other (ie board games, etc.)? We both are very competitive way, too much, so if we want our marriage to work can’t play any games against each other otherwise one of us will get angry 🙂
What is the weirdest or funniest Tweet you have ever received? Funny tweet I got? hmmm Maybe, the one when I was asked if I will play Wimbledon next year?!:) but otherwise I get lots of them who support me which is awesome!!
What do you love about your Wilson Pro Tour BLX racket? I always loved my rackets! I been with Wilson since I started and I can say it’s the best. I love the feeling of it and I always know I can count on it and I know it’s mine and can feel everything I need to 🙂 and it helps me win!!

Federer and Fish, a Wilson BLX Final in Cincinnati
“Wilson is proud to have both finalists playing with the new BLX technology,” said Wilson Global Tour Director Massimo Calvelli. “The tennis has been terrific this week and it’s nice to see Roger and Mardy find their form leading into the Open.”
Roger Federer eased into the finals with a 6-4 6-3 win over Baghdatis. Defending champion, Federer is vying for his fourth Cincinnati title.
Mardy Fish has been in outstanding form throughout the summer hard court season, taking the singles title in Atlanta and doubles title in Washington DC. This week, he defeated ATP Tour World #8 Verdasco, #4 Murray and former World #1 Roddick en route to the final and put himself in position to capture his first ATP Tour Masters Series tournament title.
The Western & Southern Financial Group Masters Series finals will be played at 12pm Eastern time.
All Wilson Sunday on WTA Tour
Showing that tennis rackets do help bring results, it will be an all Wilson affair for the singles titles in Palermo and Prague when Wilson Tour Team players Flavia Pennetta, Kaia Kanepi, Agnes Szavay and Barbora Zahlavova Strycova take the court.
“Wilson prides itself on providing the best technology and equipment for each player to help them reach their goals,” said Global Tour Director Massimo Calvelli. “All four players use a different tennis racket from our line and I think that shows the great depth and diversity in our products. We believe we can find the right racket for any player.”
In Palermo, World #12 Flavia Pennetta will swing her Wilson Blade 98 tennis racket as she looks to defend her title when she takes on Kaia Kanepi. Recently, Kanepi has ignited her game playing with the Pro Open BLX as she reached her first Wimbledon quarterfinals and now this finals appearance.
After using her Blade Team tennis racket to win Budapest last week, Agnes Szavay is looking to continue her nine match win streak and take her fifth career WTA Tour title when she takes on Barbora Zahlavova Strycova for the Prague title. Vying for her first WTA Tour title, Zahlavova Strycova will swing her Tour BLX tennis racket when she takes the court against Szavay on Sunday.
“There is no question in a players mind that the racket is one of the most important components of confidence on court,” said Kanepi. “Wilson provides the rackets that feel the best and I am happy to be at the top of my game with the new Wilson BLX racket.”
