2014 Wilson Photo Shoot

Something you may not think about when shopping for your new tennis gear is that the Wilson team has been researching, developing, and producing those products long before they hit the shelf. In fact, our line for next year is already in the making. For us to be able to show you those products by the time they hit your tennis shop, we also need to photograph them which brings me to the exciting part of this blog post – the 2014 Wilson photoshoot!

We can’t give away all the secrets, but as I type we’re grinding it out in Indian Wells to shoot players in our 2014 gear. That means long days of hustling back and forth between the shoot and the tournament, but also a lot of fun and some pretty cool behind the scenes photos for you guys. Yesterday at the shoot we saw some awesome shots of Stephanie Dubois, Melanie Oudin, Raquel Pedraza, and a couple of adorable kids. Here’s a quick peek behind the curtain:

No rest for the wicked

Team Crossfader King for Greg Olsen & CH Robinson Kicks for a Cure

So today is Sunday and while the players have a day off from matches at Wimbledon, I am recovering from playing a Greg Olsen Kicks for a Cure charity kickball tournament in support of cancer research and more importantly, we have been grinding on the Olympics and 2013!!!

This morning was filled with trying to complete a little piece for the Olympics and going through photos, videos and adjustments with Robin…. have to say it’s a lot more difficult for us to get things done when I am not at the tournament and don’t have the option of talking it through face to face, pointing at what we are looking at, going thru music together and just being able to make sure we are on the same page…guess distance is something I need to get used to….

Write now I am writing a blog because I am totally stalling on writing the real deal… I really need to get this ready for the Roger Federer shoot in a couple of weeks. Ever have writers block or just not feeling like doing something?! Totally guilty of that right now. Sometimes you get uber confident in where you are and what you have ready, only to find out that you really still have tons of work ahead of you….

Think right now my dad would say, STOP DILLY DALLYING!!

So I am going to move on and attempt to get it done before tomorrow morning.

In the meantime, check out some great photos of the first week at Wimbledon.

Until later,

Hey all!!

Did you miss me?! Ok, probably not, but it was worth asking right?! 😉

So the last couple of weeks while the players made the quick transition from clay to grass, I have been home in Chicago, transitioning from sprinting around the grounds to sitting at my cubicle!! haha

One of the toughest transitions in tennis is this time of year from clay to grass and this year is particularly tough/weird in schedule as the players will be coming back to the All England Club a month later for Olympics. Clay to grass to hard or clay and then back to grass?! WTF?!

The court changes and the scheduling is really not easy for the players this year, but it just shows what representing your country means to any athlete.

Everyone respects and honors the history of Wimbledon and now with Olympics being at AEL, well I think everyone wants to make sure their game is as solid as can be on the grass…. who ever thought that Wimbledon COULD be considered a ‘warm up’ event for another tournament?!

So here we go, it’s Wimby time… and first, let’s say congrats to our Wilson players who won 3 matches in qualifying to get to the main draw!!! Tip your hat to these players, who played in the goat pasture/tennis courts of Roehampton to get to the big show of the All England Club. (The only Slam not to have qualies at the actual courts)
