Video Run

It’s 3:50am and I am wide awake! Not good when I have to run a 5k this morning!!!

Check out these videos….

#1 Eduardo Schwank has been on fire, getting through qualies and reaching the 3rd round with the Wilson Juice Pro, now he has the tall challenge of taking on Nadal later today.

#2 Petra Kvitova and her coach David show their acting skills. We had some uber talented peeps working on this video. Hey Cal, Munn and crew! 🙂

#3 Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecau …. it’s no surprise these dudes are two of my favorites cause they are hilarious and they actually ad lib this piece. Think this is MEGA funny and I want to see it get more hits! Come on ladies, don’t see many better ways to spend 30 sec. 🙂

#4 Protest… as some of my colleagues said: “What’s more French than a protest?!” lol Check Paul-Henri Mathieu and Anne Keothavong in it. Help keep the Juice & Steam legal!!

Thanks again to all who sponsored my run. I will try to make you and Papa proud today!! 🙂

Until later,

Tracy

Stayin Alive

Is it a photoshoot?! No it's the French Open!

Is it a photoshoot?! No it’s the French Open!

It’s Wednesday, officially the 4th day of the tournament, but the Wilson team is on day 10…. not that we are keeping track or anything! And in the word of the Bee Gee’s we are Stayin Alive! 🙂
It’s been an extremely productive past few days for me and the Digital Marketing team (Robin and I)..We have been able to get some great footage of our Wilson Exclusive athletes Philipp Kohlschreiber, Feliciano Lopez, Paul Henri Mathieu, Anne Keothavong and Mandy Minella…. it’s great to have athletes that are kick a** tennis players and are also very ‘marketable’….. Robin took some amazing photos that looked like they were out of a photoshoot, not intense play at a Grand Slam… hats off to RF, he is elevating our level… his stuff is a bit better than what I was capturing on my blackberry… haha…. In addition, it’s also an extreme positive for me that I get to speak to someone through the day instead of running from court to court by myself, I have officially stopped talking to myself through the day! 😉
So we were able to get an Inside the Life with Next Gen’r Vasel Pospisil… he’s a very charming kid with a big serve and big game… watch out for him on the grass and hard, he will definitely be a player to make waves this year…. the video will come out later this week…. that is, if we stop shooting and actually have time to edit!!! It’s a running joke between Robin and I that we will have an edit day so we can get the stuff out… but so far there has been none. There is just too many awesome things happening and in video ‘they say you can never have enough’…. so today we will have 10 players to shoot! lol
Today we meet up with Wilson team France to do the protest to keep the Juice and Steam legal! Should be interesting…. I have no idea what to expect and how many people will show up… all I know is that Robin and I have to walk a bloody mile with camera gear and computers. NOT SO GLAM! 😛
So just a couple more days of Paris for me and I can’t wait to come home and see the Chicago team, sit in my cubicle, eat by the windows and carry on with my friends during the Chicago summer.

Until later,

Tracy

Can I get a….. – G’Day 12- 2012 Australian Open

In the words of Jay Z, can I get a what what?! (Well, that’s the clean version!)…..

Sometimes when you take risks it pays off and when you sign players, it’s very much a gamble. Every company in the biz is searching for the next Federer or next Serena that will help them push the envelope and really be able to show that not only are the products the best quality, but they are cool as s**t and the best players want to play with them.

We definitely want to be and ARE living proof that our products perform at the top levels for the best players in the world. It’s something we take pride in.

Most recently, we signed Feliciano Lopez to represent us head to toe. Feli has been a long time Wilson racket guy and loves the brand, so it really was a natural fit. He is one of the most stylish and detailed guys out there, so it REALLY speaks highly for our tennis apparel and shoes. On top of that, he is playing some of his best tennis this week and it’s making people really pay attention to our threads. We are serious about how good our clothes are and having Feli beat Isner and now he will take on Nadal in our gear from head to toe and get great coverage on tv…… well, that’s just good s**t! 😉

On top of that, Nicolas Mahut is not wearing the Tour Ikon shoes and speaks so highly of our sneakers, he was talking to Michael Llodra about the Ikons and now Michael practiced with them, loved them and passed by the suite to talk about playing with them in his match today… wow, that’s amazing.

The newest member of our team Vika Azarenka is using the brand new Wilson Juice and looks in great form and she is killin the ball.

Trust that players HATE change, so if they make a switch and want to switch to a different racket or shoe, it’s because they think it enhances their play.

This week, we are off to a good start….. well let’s just say, so far so good and we are proud of where we are at in this moment…. GO WILSON TEAM!

Until later,

Tracy

ps Yes, it’s 3am and I am writing this… sleeping issues continue!!!

Rock n Roll- G’Day 10- 2012 Australian Open

Tracy Almeda-Singian, Vika's agent Meilen Tu & photographer Robin Fenlon post Azarenka match

Well, just sometimes we get to rock it out. Last night I caught the 2nd full match I’ve ever watched in 4 years at Wilson as Vika Azarenka took on Dellacqua. As I have said before, in this job everyone thinks we are hanging out just watching tennis, but truth is, we don’t see much.

The first match with Wilson I watched in its totality was young Simona Halep playing Jankovic at US Open a few years ago, a crazy 3 set match. She just fell short of pulling the upset 7-5 in the third set….. Simona had asked Renaud and I to watch her match. She has always been a great Wilson player and one of the most helpful when we need something assistance with videos,  tickets etc and it meant something to her have our support. We had been there when she won French Open jrs, qualifying for French Open main draw and now it was her first time on Ashe stadium, against a seed. I just remember being so proud of her as she fought and was growing into her potential right in front of our eyes. It is so much fun, watching players develop and now Simona is legit Top 50, has wins over US Open champs Kuznetsova and Li and keeps climbing.

So my second match experience as a Wilson person was much different. I watched world #3 and newest Wilson team member Vika Azarenka.    She doesn’t really know me and it was important for us to be there , show our support to her know just how happy we are to have her on the Wilson team. And let me tell you, This girl is a ROCKSTAR. I love her fiestiness on court, I’ve never seen a girl really be able to absorb the power of their opponent so well and then play with her own power the next ball. She is a serious contender for the title. Above that, Vika brings some serious energy to the court.. she starts each match walking through the tunnel with headphones and hood, Rocky style, she called out the crowd, sticks out her tongue when she wins and brought some crazy glasses for her post match interview…. seriously awesome. Think doing video with her is going to be a blast.

Besides getting to watch a bit of tennis, it was super fun because Meilen, Vika’s agent, was a player that I played with and have known since we were kids and  Vika’s coach, Sam also happens to be Meilen’s husband, so it’s always solid to catch up with them and it’s great to see them have the success they are having in the industry… two of the hardest workers I know. Vika’s team is super fun, I was continually saying when she hit winners or aces that the shot was “Juicy”… lol think I was driving her fitness coach JP nuts- hahaha…. think Juicy is going to stick for all shots hit with the Juice!! 🙂 Use it in a sentence today! 😉

So enough fun for one night, time to get back to work. We are going to try and shoot some video with Vika today and get other footage around the grounds as usual.

Until later,

Tracy

Hail waaahhhhh?!- G’day 3- Australian Open 2012

Inside the Australian Open Stringing Room

Well, today was the 1st day of qualies play. It was an extremely odd day that saw hail (yes hail) then sun, then rain, then sun, then hail and finally some tennis matches!!! I didn’t realize that Melbourne was able to produce these cold temperatures and I have to say that I was a bit bummed….  it’s really weird to see the players on court and then running back towards the locker rooms because of hail…. IS THIS AUSTRALIA?!! WHERE AM I? I blame it on serious jetlag!!! haha  I try to get as many days in the sun when not in Chicago and this is not helping…. 😛

Other than that, it was a successful day. Because of the rain, we were able to spend a little bit more time in the Australian Open Stringing Room that is run by our Wilson String team. I have always enjoyed hanging in the stringing rooms, geek’n out on racket specs/tensions/etc. and we really have an amazing team that makes sure the players are ready for battle. To see how players like Mardy Fish like their rackets prepared, always entertains me….  Above is a photo of Kei’s Steam BLX racket, ready in the stringing room… if I were you, I would check the label, might catch something intriguing…..

Also each day we will share some info from the stringing room, so make sure to check out our Twitter and Facebook for that info……

Today we also managed to shoot some video with Grigor Dimitrov and I have to say I really always enjoy the projects we do and he is a very nice person as well as a talented player…. we talked about music, food he likes and yes, even the Monfils US Open kiss…. make sure to check back in the next couple of days for the video, should be some good fun.

After shooting with Grigor, we had player services where we had Melanie Oudin, Andreas Beck, Petra Martic, Arantxa Rus, Andy Ram, Jonathan Erlich and many more passed by to get the new bag. Everyone is loving the new shape…. check out the tour bags here: Wilson Tour 15 pack

That’s all for now,  I am struggling to keep my eyes open!

Until later,

Tracy
