Hey there,

Been a long time since we wrote an entry….I’m back for a little while on the social media gig…. so will just give you a quick update.

It’s May and clay court season is in full swing. It’s been successful so far for the Wilson team!!! Our head to toe player, Jarkko Nieminen won the dubs title and Philipp Kohlschreiber reached the singles semis in Munich…and now our Next Gen’rs have had some of the best wins in their careers to date…. Grigor Dimitrov beat Djokovic today, Laura Robson took down Radwanska and Madison Keys defeated former Roland Garros champ Li… Madrid is treating Wilson players well so far!! 🙂 I love seeing our Next Gen’rs do well… it’s always fun to see!!

As you may know, we were shooting some new stuff in Indian Wells and Miami in March, so the crew and I have been working on getting these videos/tv spots ready for this summer. At the same time, we are working on 2014 and getting all the other things we need ready for next year. Prepping this stuff has been my main focus and therefore I am not on the road as much through this summer.

Jacob and Robin will be heading to Rome this week to shoot a few things with a few players….. It’s really one of the most beautiful places and definitely a must do on the tennis calendar if you ever get the chance!! I will miss it for sure! Jacob and Robin better hit my favorite restaurant while they are there!

So the stuff we are working on now? Well, we are getting there little by little and can’t wait to show you the end results!!! For now, here is a little behind the scenes of our shoots….we are extremely fortunate to have some of the most fun players on tour, so even through rain storms, we had a blast!!!

Hope you enjoy!

Until later,

Federer mania in Indian Wells for sure

Milos Raonic at Pete Carlson's Golf & Tennis Shop

Ok, yesterday was ok with an autograph session with Milos Raonic at Pete Carlson’s Golf & Tennis… but  today will hopefully be even better…. think it’s a big day… Roger Federer will be signing autographs today for Wilson at the Tennis Warehouse tent at 4pm and it will be chaos for sure. This is when I get to play security and have to be the person everyone hates as they try to get closer to the player, talk to the player about their neighbor who just loves him and has a shrine in his house, ask him about his kids, blah blah blah…. So I play the hardcore b***h so the player doesn’t have to deal with telling someone OK ALREADY!! hahaha….

In addition, I will be chasing players down trying to get bag checks for Tennis Channel and also we will be doing a short video with Vika Azarenka and Petra Kvitova. This is going to be a cool thing we are doing in partnership with the WTA…. can’t tell you exactly what it is yet… but should be fun. We are going to do that just before they play doubles later today.

Let’s see how it goes….

Until later,

Inside Wilson Next Gen……..Arantxa Rus answers Facebook fan questions

Arantxa Rus celebrates her win over Clijsters with her Wilson Tour BLX racquet in hand

Arantxa Rus swung her Wilson Tour BLX tennis racquet to have the best win over her career, defeating world #2 Clijsters to reach the third round of Roland Garros.

The 20 year old lefty has been making great progress through the WTA Tour, winning 6 ITF Circuit titles and reaching her 3rd WTA quarterfinal at Estoril last month. The 2008 Australian Open Junior champion Rus will take on Kirilenko for a spot in the Round of 16.

We caught up with Arantxa to get some insight to this rising star as she answers your Facebook questions.

Rebekah Franklin: Who’s your favorite player of the ATP?

Arantxa: Nadal…I love his fight and his attitude. Fun to watch.

Jordy Corallo: Arantxa, what are your career targets and this year will you return in Palermo?!

Arantxa: My first goal is top 20. But my main focus is getting better every day.  I am not sure about Palermo yet 🙂

Antonio Jesús Villarán López:  Arantxa, do you know how to speak Spanish?

Arantxa: No.  But I am taking classes

Chris Gilbert: How hard is it top make the move from being a top junior to competing on the WTA tour?

Arantxa: The jump to the challengers was ok. Not too hard. But the jump to the WTA events was tougher. It takes time.

Noradeli Caselin Gomez:  Your favorite cities to visit?

Arantxa: Barcelona. Beach, shopping, and a beautiful city.

Alvin Lam: You think you can coach me?

Arantxa: Haha. I will stick to playing.

Tennis:  Do you prefer grilled or fried fish tacos?

Arantxa: Not a fish taco fan.  Usually eat regular taco’s.

Day 8- Paris 2011

Well, for me, I have wrapped up another year at the French Open.

The rest of the Tour Team will still be here as there is still tons of work to be done. The juniors start this weekend and we are always interested in finding our NEXT Wilson team member…… For most Grand Slams are the time to enjoy great tennis and for the Tour Team, this is where the serious work gets done…..we get to see all our players, their agents and make sure we are set up for the months and years to come.

It is always great to visit Paris, get some work done and even manage to catch up with old friends. 😉

For a few years, I have been chomping to hit balls at the Arc de Triomphe and yesterday we managed to make it happen!!

Definitely, something to remember. We also wanted to get other people involved, so Clement started approaching people so had some funny reactions! 🙂 Check out the video of our day around the city!

I hope you enjoyed our UStreams and updates on Twitter and Facebook and we look forward to continuing to share a behind the scenes look at Wilson and pro tennis.

Until next Wednesday, Tracy

Day 6- Paris 2011

With his Wilson Six.One 95 BLX in hand, Stephane Robert celebrates the win of his career at Roland Garros

Hey all,

Well today was an exciting day of matches. We had some players pull some upsets and grind out some tough ones.

The biggest upset of the day, came from a hometown favorite Stephane Robert, who used his Wilson Six.One 95 BLX tennis racquet to defeat #6 seed Berdych! Stephane’s game is so different, so tough to play against and with the crowd behind him, he was on fire! Biggest win of his career for sure.

Also getting wins were Wilson players Roger Federer, Petra Kvitova, Juan Martin Del Potro, Sara Errani, Kaia Kanepi, Leonardo Mayer, Mickhail Kukushkin, Michael Berrer, Olga Govortsova, Mardy Fish, Sania Mirza, Sabine, Lisicki, Philipp Petzschner, Steve Darcis and Thomaz Bellucci.

In the suite, it was all about our doubles players as they tend to get in a few days later than our singles players as doubles normally starts the Tuesday or Wednesday of each Slam. As far as equipment, doubles players tend to use softer strings, but with more “traditional” frames. The Six.One 95 BLX tennis racquet is definitely a winner on the ATP World Tour!! 🙂

Also in the suite, we had Grigor Dimitrov stop by and do a Ustream, which was fun. He’s a dynamic player with a good sense of humor….hoping that this Wilson Next Gen player takes the next step forward in his career!! Check out our UStream http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/14911872

See you later today, Tracy

Wilson Next Gen'r Thomaz Bellucci gets a win with his Wilson Six.One BLX racquet
