Petra Kvitova swings Wilson BLX into the WTA Tour Top 10

Swinging her Wilson Tour BLX tennis racquet, Petra Kvitova captured the Madrid Open singles title for her third title of the year, catapulting her into the Top 10 on the WTA Tour rankings for the first time in her career.

“Top 10 is a great milestone for any player, but Petra is young, so this is only the beginning,” said Wilson Tour Director, Renaud Vallon. “Her game is so well rounded that she can do well on any surface and we look forward to seeing her continue to reach new heights.”

It has been a steady rise to the top of the WTA Tour for the 21 year old Petra Kvitova. In 2008, she reached the Top 50 for the first time in her career and went on to win her first WTA Tour title in Hobart in 2009. In 2010, she reached the Top 40 for the first time in her career after reaching her first Grand Slam semifinal at Wimbledon. This year, she has been a consistent performer on tour, taking titles in Brisbane, Paris and this week in Madrid.

It clear there is no stopping this rising star…Go Petra!!!

  2. If she has indeed switched to the Steam, the larger head and different balance will put her through the ringer. She does not need more power. The racquet people have wrecked careers by getting players to switch. Think Sabatini, Djokovic (when first he went to HEAD), and Agassi (put through the ringer as guinea pig for Donnay; to their ultimate credit, they finally got it right; in TWO years).

By the way the Steam cosmetics are awful; too much going on; she’ll have to avoid looking at it.
