Kanepi swings Wilson BLX to take down Jankovic
Swinging her Wilson Pro Open BLX tennis racket, Kaia Kanepi took down #5 seed Jankovic 6-2, 7-6 to reach the 4th round of the US Open for the first time in her career.
“Kaia’s powerful groundstrokes and aggressive play have helped her reach new heights,” said Renaud Vallon, Wilson Tour Manager Europe. “It’s been a fantastic summer for Kaia and it’s a great feeling to see her and many of our players playing their best tennis with our latest technology, BLX.”
Kanepi started the summer by reaching her first Grand Slam quarterfinal at Wimbledon and then went on to become the first Estonian player to win a WTA Tour title when she took home the Palermo crown. Her impressive results have lifted her ranking over 100 spots since May 10 and she now finds herself in position to reach another new milestone in her career, the US Open quarterfinals. Kanepi will try to earn that spot when she plays Wickmayer on Monday.
