We don’t need a roof, we need lights

So this week has been a success as far as being able to get matches in without any rain….now if only there were lights!! So many matches have been called due to darkness, unlike the past few years when rain has been the issue. It’s been so hot and sunny that I had to whip out the umbrella. Yes, I am scared to say that I have turned into my mom and had to whip out the umbrella from  the sun. Yes, I have sunburn in London. Scary thought!!!🙂

One match that truly went the distance today was an all Wilson match Andrei Pavel and Horia Tecau ended up defeating Scott Lipsky and Eric Butorac in a 15-13 fifth set. I would have to think that this was one of the longest doubles matches ever.  Anyone that can give me exact #’s and true historic facts regarding this, wins a prize.

It was a tough day at the office for our players Sorana Cirstea, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, and Philipp Kohlschreiber.

On the junior side, we would like to congratulate Kristina Mladenovic for taking the Roehampton Girl Junior Singles Championship. She is continuing her good form from Roland Garros and we hope it continues through Wimbledon!

Other than that today was our “slow” day and we will be in full swing with the junior draw starting tomorrow at the all England Club.

It’s about time for us to head to bed, but we will check in tomorrow.

Here are a few photos of the day. We’ll have to drop more photos tomorrow. Have an awesome weekend!!

  1. Hi,

I’m really enjoying your Wilson player interviews. Have you guys thought about interviewing doubles specialist Travis Parrott? He’s a Wilson player, and on Twitter – @travisparrott.

    Regards,

    Paula Vergara
