Ice Cream Showers- G’Day 14- 2012 Australian Open

We gonna make you sweat, a night you won’t forget, are you ready for.. Ice cream showers, Ice Cream showers… lol ok, it really is Champagne Showers by LMFAO but ice cream is more important to the Wilson Tour Team than champagne!!! At least, most nights!

As you know, I am one for traditions and rituals, so yesterday we did our Slam tradition of getting our ice cream after teardown. This was someting that we started when Massimo was the director and I joined the team. Both him and I go crazy for ice cream and it is definitely the light at the end of the tunnel when you are in deep in boxes and counting string, bras, shirts, shorts and everything. There are a lot of fun parts of our jobs, more than the average bear, but counting strings and separating apparel are probably the most unenjoyable things to do, EVER. And ice cream is definitely the best motivation to get through it.

So we made it through another year of player services at a Slam and for some reason, this Australian Open was busier than years past… we did get most of the work we wanted done and had some fun in the process.

We will be on site today for some final videos, but this is officially my last blog for the 2012 Australian Open…

14 videos, 14 blog entries, 1 busted printer (Clement), 1 pair of sunglasses broken, 1 lost camera cover, countless Facebook updates & Tweets and Blackberry in tact… 2012 Australian is a wrap!!

Win some, lose some- G’Day 13- 2012 Australian Open

Well after quite a high the day before, the Wilson team took some tough losses in the last 24 hrs…. not fun watching some of our favorites like Milos and Alexandr lose, but its a long year and they definitely have a lot of great tennis to play in 2012.

Good news, Ekaterina Makarova had the best win of her career and defeated Zvonareva to reach the 4th round. Well done Ekaterina!

And I have to be quite honest, I’m tanking on the blog today because I am exhausted from having a bit of fun last night. The adult beverages were flowing and the dancing was ugly…. haha

So will finish this entry explained in photos. & videos..Happy Sunday.

Can I get a….. – G’Day 12- 2012 Australian Open

In the words of Jay Z, can I get a what what?! (Well, that’s the clean version!)…..

Sometimes when you take risks it pays off and when you sign players, it’s very much a gamble. Every company in the biz is searching for the next Federer or next Serena that will help them push the envelope and really be able to show that not only are the products the best quality, but they are cool as s**t and the best players want to play with them.

We definitely want to be and ARE living proof that our products perform at the top levels for the best players in the world. It’s something we take pride in.

Most recently, we signed Feliciano Lopez to represent us head to toe. Feli has been a long time Wilson racket guy and loves the brand, so it really was a natural fit. He is one of the most stylish and detailed guys out there, so it REALLY speaks highly for our tennis apparel and shoes. On top of that, he is playing some of his best tennis this week and it’s making people really pay attention to our threads. We are serious about how good our clothes are and having Feli beat Isner and now he will take on Nadal in our gear from head to toe and get great coverage on tv…… well, that’s just good s**t!

On top of that, Nicolas Mahut is not wearing the Tour Ikon shoes and speaks so highly of our sneakers, he was talking to Michael Llodra about the Ikons and now Michael practiced with them, loved them and passed by the suite to talk about playing with them in his match today… wow, that’s amazing.

The newest member of our team Vika Azarenka is using the brand new Wilson Juice and looks in great form and she is killin the ball.

Trust that players HATE change, so if they make a switch and want to switch to a different racket or shoe, it’s because they think it enhances their play.

This week, we are off to a good start….. well let’s just say, so far so good and we are proud of where we are at in this moment…. GO WILSON TEAM!
