Yesterday was a success, shot the lawyers of the International Tennis Court, picked up my credential for the tourny, saw my buddies at the Indian Wells stringing room, had my SMU plate at my favorite Italian restaurant in the desert Mama Gina’s, and had some laughs.
Day 2 in the desert will be a long one… we have Petra Kvitova, Victoria Azarenka and Kei Nishikori doing the photoshoot for more ‘evidence’ for Juice and Steam.
Something kinda cool is that they have all been having amazing results with their new Juice and Steam tennis rackets….Petra has continued her great form from last year, reaching the semis of Oz and is at #3 in the world, Kei reached the Top 20 for the first time in his career and now is onto Project Top 10 and Vika is 17-0 since switching to the Juice and is WTA #1…. we could not be more proud!!!
So my main tour responsibilities today and most days is #1 when we do photoshoots or autograph sessions, make sure players don’t get killed!!! :)
In addition to making sure the players are alive and well, we will have the fun project of getting about 30-40+ rackets autographed from each player, for the different Wilson countries and markets to use for their promotions and accounts. Now you think this would be rather easy, but we only have a certain amount of time with the players to get the video we need, do some interviews, take some photos and fit everything within the time frame, interesting…… today will be even more challenging beause this is the first time I will have no backup from Renaud, Massimo, Saud, Jacob, Mario or Clement….normally we get a “assembly’ line and make it as painless for the player as possible….luckily Dianne, Kari and I removed all the plastic from the grips before I left and now we’ll see how effecient I can be! haha
Ok, off Ito go make sure we have everything and then I will play chauffeur and pick up Petra…..
HERE WE GO!!!
